Where to Find Coupons

You’ve decided that couponing is the right thing for your family budget, but your missing something. Coupons! Where do you find all the coupons necessary for big savings? They are everywhere if you start looking for them.

Newspaper Inserts

The obvious choice for locating coupons is the newspaper. We’ve all known since we were kids that mixed in with the TV Guide and Comics was a handful of inserts containing money saving coupons. The standard inserts are Smart Source, Red Plum, and Proctor & Gamble. These coupons are what are referred to as Manufacturer’s Coupons.

Store Coupons

The next category of coupons are store coupons. These are coupons for particular items that are only valid in one particular store. Occasionally you’ll find these in the Sunday paper, but the majority of them can be found online at the stores website or in the store ads.

In Store Blinkies / Peelies / Tearpads

Keeping your eyes open as you walk around the store will add many savings to your shopping trip. Blinkies are “blinking” machines attached to the shelves in the store which dispense coupons for that product. Peelies are coupons that are stuck onto the products itself but can be redeemed right away. Finally, tearpads are again coupons attached to the shelves or displays in the store which provide extra savings.

Internet Printable Coupons

Finding coupons on the internet is one of the biggest time and money savers for today’s couponer. Visit sites such as Coupons.com, Coupon Network, Redplum, Betty Crocker, plus your favorite coupon matchup sites such as DealSeekingMom or Couponing101 for matchups with store sales and links to the coupons. Also be sure to visit your store’s website for printable coupons or ones that can be loaded directly onto your loyalty card.

Home Mailers

While you may think it’s only junk mail accumulating in your mail box, there can be some valuable coupons in those mailers from Restaurants, Pizza shops, carpet cleaners and more.

Coupon Clipping Services

While I haven’t personally tried them, coupon clipping services such as TheCouponClippers, provide you a way to stock up on specific items your family will need without having to buy multiple newspapers and having excess coupons.

Magazines

Don’t just skip past the advertisements in your favorite magazines. Manufacturers have begun putting coupons in their ads more and more these days. Additionally, magazines such as All You, are chock full of money saving coupons.
