With all the processed foods, soda and coffee many of us consume on a daily basis, it tends to really do a number on our teeth. While we often try to stay on top of our teeth cleaning care, going to the dentist for a routine check-up every six months and diligently brush and floss our teeth twice or even thrice daily, our gams often still end up more yellow than the porcelain white beauty like we want them to. Of course, these days there are easy fixes like teeth whitening procedures, but those are often so expensive, with many of us unable to pay such a steep price on a normal basis.

There are also those teeth whitening strips that are sold at the drug store, but those can also be a pretty penny. Why spend all that cash when you can rely on DIY teeth whitening?

Here are five easy (and inexpensive) ways to naturally DIY teeth whitening:

Drink a lot of water.

Not only is water a great way to keep your body hydrated, it can also help in preventing residue from building up. Say yes to a lot of H2O!

Use a straw whenever possible.

The reason why our teeth end up getting discolored is because of the stains our food and coffee leave on them. By using a straw, whatever you are consuming bypasses your pearly whites and go straight into your throat, leaving them, well, pearly white!

Antioxidants, antioxidants, antioxidants.

Many toothpastes that we use often exclaim that they are teeth whitening solutions, but that isn’t always the case. When checking out toothpastes, look for one that has ingredients that also benefit your health, like your gums. You’ll also want to steer clear of sodium lauryl sulfate, which can irritate prior allergies and give you bad breath, among other things.

Eat foods that naturally whiten.

Foods that make you chew a lot are beneficial to your teeth care. Apples, carrots and celery are all foods that will help your teeth whiten naturally because of their ability to remove stains on your teeth. If you’re looking to guarantee perfectly white teeth, invisalign maple ridge is the ideal choice for achieving your goal. You may also visit your local dental clinic for their teeth whitening services. Your dentist may also offer other dental services like invisalign and veneers that can help improve your smile. Preventive dentistry services are also essential to achieve optimal dental health.

Make your own homemade teeth whitening paste.

This is what we automatically think of when we think of teeth whitening, and this one works every time! Just mix a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and a dash of baking soda, and make a paste of the two. When tooth brushing, dip in the paste first and then add your normal toothpaste and brush teeth for at least two minutes with it.
