How to Make a Simple DIY Hair Mask

hair

Dry and damaged hair is so common in the winter weather. It’s so dry outside that our hair is just breaking into a million pieces, and the heat damage from our styling tools only adds to the nightmare. So what are you to do when the weather is dry and your hair is, too? Put it up in a hat and try to forget about it until spring is here and you can finally wash it again? Well, it doesn’t hurt to skip a few washes here and there so that your hair maintains some of its natural moisture, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still wear it down and love it. Our solution is to skip a day between washes, get a really good heat protectant to apply before styling and to put on a hair mask once a week. And since those are expensive and many women are trying to budget in the new year, let us help you make your own very effective hair mask at home.

What You Need

Banana

Honey

Almond Oil

Shower Cap

You’re going to start by cutting your banana in half and mixing half of the banana with two tablespoons of honey and three drops of your almond oil. Once this is thoroughly mixed together, apply it to your dry hair and allow it to sit there for 20 minutes. We recommend using a shower cap over your hair to prevent drips and messes as well as to prevent your hair from allowing the heat to escape. When your time is up, rinse the mask out. You can start with warm water, but finish with a shot of cold water to help add a bit of shine to your newly gorgeous and moisturized locks. Now it’s time to enjoy your lack of frizz and the overall appearance of damage.
