Five New Things You Can Make Out of Old Jeans

Jeans

Cleaning out your closet is enough to make anyone a bit nostalgic. Cleaning out your closet in the midst of realizing you have several pair of jeans now so old they no longer fit or they’re too destroyed to wear in public is a sad moment in the lives of most. Fortunately, you don’t necessarily have to throw away those favored old jeans. You can turn them into something new and awesome. Here’s a few ideas for you.

Patchwork Quilts

If you’re crafty and able, you can turn your old jeans into a fun quilt. If you know how to sew or work the sewing machine, you can do this with relative ease. It makes your favorite jeans into a fun project that can create a lot of memories you use on a regular basis. It’s fun and creative, and it’s not wasteful.

Placemats

What’s more fun than some faded denim placemats you can use when you entertain? They’re nowhere near formal enough for the formal dining room, but they’d be great on the patio table or on a big party table when you’ve got guests over for a meal. This is another project that will require a bit of your sewing skills.

Chair Covers

If you have fun chairs that need new cushion covers, try covering them with the denim from your old jeans. They’ll be soft and perfect for lounging. It’s a sort of shabby chic appeal that most people will love and appreciate, but that will only work in a house that’s decorated along the same lines.

Pillow Covers

This is so easy it barely even requires any real skill. You can turn old, faded, stained pillows into something that looks brand new by covering them with your old jeans. It’s a great way to spruce up the living area or even make something fun and unique for the kids’ rooms.

Doll Clothes

This is something you’re going to need some serious sewing skill for. However, if you have it, this is such a cute and fun project for you to take on. You can make your kids’ dolls some new clothes by using the fabric of your old jeans. It’s going to make your kids happy, it’s going to save you from having to buy new doll clothes, and that makes the entire situation a win-win.
