Fall Off the Bone Country Style Ribs Made in the Crock Pot

Performa 09 Opening Night Benefit Dinner

Fall off the bone ribs are the absolute best, and nothing is better than ribs that are made with a country flair. The South knows how to do up their ribs, and we love to share our recipes with those who don’t live here. One of the most successful country-style ribs recipes that southerners like to make is done right in the crock pot. What makes this rib recipe so desirable is that it’s not only delicious, it’s low-maintenance and practically cooks itself. Here’s everything you need to know about making the world’s best country-style ribs in the crock pot.

What You Need

3 lbs. ribs (pork ribs are beset)

1 cup ketchup

8 oz. Dr. Pepper

Prep Time

The first thing you need to do is grab a mixing bowl and mix your Dr. Pepper with your ketchup and set it aside. In your crock pot, add your ribs. Pour your Dr. Pepper and ketchup mixture over the top of your ribs and place the lid on your crock pot. Turn the heat up to high and set a timer for 2 hours. Once the ribs have cooked on high for two hours, turn the heat down to low and let them simmer in the crock pot for another 3 to 4 hours time. There is no need to do anything other than sit back and wait while your ribs cook.

Serve

Now that your ribs are cooked, you’re going to want to serve them hot. The best way to serve these is with great sides. We love cole slaw in the south. Some delicious, fresh-baked biscuits always make for a great addition, and some corn on the cob never hurts. If you want to go all out, homemade potato salad is another great way to make this meal even more southern than it already is. Don’t  forget to invite your favorite friends and family over for this meal, because it’s not one to keep all to yourself.
