Homemade biscuits have a way of making you feel you’re at home. They’re delicious and wonderful, and they’re comfort food. You can’t help but feel good when you make and eat your own homemade biscuits. This recipe is simple, fast and good enough to leave you wanting to make it as often as possible.

What You’ll Need

2 cups flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
¼ cup butter
½ tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
¾ milk

Mix all the dry ingredients with a whisk. The next step is simply to cut the butter into the dry mixture using a fork or other kitchen tool. You’ll do this until your mixture is a bit coarse. Follow this by adding the milk to the mixture. At this point, your mixture should turn into a ball.

Flour a counter in your kitchen and turn out your dough using a rolling pin. You can use wax paper if you prefer to keep your counters clean. Keep the dough on the surface for a few minutes to let it breathe. Once you do this, knead the dough for a minute or so before placing more flour on the surface. Roll out your dough until it’s around a ½ inch thick.

The next part of this recipe is simply to use a biscuit cutter to cut your biscuits. You’ll need to flour the cutter to make sure your dough doesn’t stick to it. You’re going to get approximately 12 biscuits from this recipe.

Place your biscuits on a greased pan and bake in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes at 425 degrees. You can take them out and let them cool before you serve, or you can serve them hot with some melted butter or jam. You can also freeze your dough if you’re not in the mood to eat fresh biscuits at the moment.
