Who Needs Bread When you Can Make a Ramen Noodle Grilled Cheese?

Whether you’re looking for something simple to make for the kids or your husband is hungry and you haven’t yet had the time to make it to the supermarket, you can whip up a delicious sandwich in a matter of minutes. Don’t have any bread? No problem; you can easily make a grilled cheese sandwich using ramen noodles in place of bread. It’s ingenious; simple and easy and sure to please the palates of your pickiest little – or big – eaters.

Cook the Noodles

Read the package of ramen noodles and following the cooking instructions, removing the noodles from the water a minute or two before they are fully cooked and draining them. Rinse the cooked noodles with cool water and allow them to sit for a few minutes until they are no longer warm. Once cooled, add an egg to the noodles and mix them well.

Make the “Bread”

Once the egg has been mixed into your noodles, shape the noodles into a large rectangle and place it on a piece of parchment paper. Cut the rectangle in half. Next, use the parchment paper to wrap each half of your noodle bread and place it in the refrigerator for approximately 20 minutes.

Cook the Sandwich

Once your “bread” has cooled in the fridge for 20 minutes or so, place it on a medium skillet that’s been sprayed with cooking spray. Allow the sides of the bread to warm for 2 to 3 minutes before you remove it and flip it over. Add your favorite cheese to the previously cooked side of one piece of the “bread” and cook it for another 2 or 3 minutes.  Once the second side of each piece is finished cooking, place the plain piece on top of your cheesy piece and enjoy your newfound grilled cheese ramen noodle sandwich.
