There’s something about a recipe you grew up with that makes you feel as if you’ve gone back home. It’s the simple addition of something that reminds you of childhood to your day that makes you all but thrilled to be part of something so delicious, and it’s refreshing. One of those classic meals is good old-fashioned chicken and dumplings, something your grandparents and probably your parents made regularly when you were growing up. They probably made theirs the old-fashioned way, but we have a simple way to take a classic recipe and make it just as tasty and delicious, but in no time at all. We’re going to teach you to make this classic recipe in the slow cooker so that you can prepare your dinner. If you’re interested in making this classic, go ahead and try it out.

What You’ll Need

4 Boneless chicken breasts

2 tbsp. butter

2 cans cream of chicken soup

1 container chicken broth

2 cans of biscuits (dough)

Salt and pepper to taste

Get your slow cooker out and let’s get started. You’re going to start by placing your chicken on the bottom of the slow cooker and adding some salt and pepper and the butter to the top. Then you will put your chicken soup into the slow cooker and follow that up with the entire container of chicken broth. You will then put the cover on the slow cooker and cook everything for approximately 4 hours. You’ll then want to cut up the chicken in the slow cooker and put it back into its place in the slow cooker. Taking the biscuits out of the can, go ahead and break each piece up into small pieces and toss it into the slow cooker. You’ll want to cook the meal for another hour and a half, removing the meal only to serve it while it is still warm. Enjoy this delicious meal, because it’s certainly a good one; and a classic.
