Cook a Simple, Healthy Meal for Your Family in Minutes

When you’re in a hurry and you haven’t time to actually cook dinner for your family in that very Paula Deen professional manner, you need a go-to recipe that’s both healthy and delicious. The entire family needs to love what you have to serve them on nights you have kids with practice, meetings or whatever. It’s not always possible to come home and cook a real meal, but this quick and simple pasta recipe will save the day.

Ingredients

All you need for this decadent pasta recipe – which can be served both hot or cold if you want to make it in the morning and serve it for dinner – are a few common ingredients.

1 container cherry tomatoes

1 box bowtie pasta

½ cup extra virgin olive oil

4 cloves garlic – minced

Salt to taste

Fresh basil

Fresh parmesan cheese

Preparations

Start by tossing your pasta into a pot and cooking it according to the instructions on the box. Follow that by simmering your olive oil in a pan on a very low heat. Add salt to taste and let it warm up. From there, go ahead and mince your garlic into very small pieces. Add the garlic to the olive oil and leave the mixture on a very low heat. You’ll want to simmer the garlic mixture for approximately five minutes, taking great care to ensure the garlic does not burn. While that’s simmering, go ahead and cut your cherry tomatoes in half. After allowing the garlic mixture to simmer for five minutes, add the tomatoes to the mixture and allow it to simmer on low for another five minutes. Remove from heat and pour into a large bowl.

Finishing Touches

When the pasta is finished, drain it and add it to your tomato, garlic and olive oil mixture. Mix it well to coat all the pasta with olive oil and garlic and to mix the tomatoes into the pasta well. Next, cut your fresh garlic into small pieces and toss it into the pasta mixture. Mix it well to spread it out, salt and pepper your pasta to taste and sprinkle a layer of fresh parmesan cheese on top. Serve it warm or cover it and place it in the fridge to serve cold later. You can also make this a healthier recipe by substituting your white pasta with wheat.
