Five Tips to Ensure that You Stick to Your Workout

work out

I am going to work out more this year. I’m going to go to the gym. I’m going to run a 5K every month. I’m going to…fill in the blank. We all say things like this every single day and yet so many of us give up what we swear we are going to do before we even take the time to start. It’s a bad habit, and we’re all fairly guilty of it from time to time. It’s especially true of working out, which is something so good for us yet something so easily and so readily pushed to the side and ignored when it comes down to it. Why do we give up on something that makes us more confident, makes us healthier and even lowers our stress? It doesn’t make any sense, yet we do it regularly. We have some tips that are going to make it next to impossible for you to give up your work outs, though, and we think you’re going to appreciate this motivation to stick to it.

Do Something You Love

It’s a lot easier to do something if you love it. The same goes for exercise. If you find a sport or activity you thoroughly enjoy, it’s going to be a lot easier for you to stick with it and keep it up.

Don’t Quit for 21 Days

It’s going to be difficult, but if you can do it 21 days in a row without stopping, you’re going to create a habit. It takes only 21 days for something to become habit, and that’s going to change your life. Do it now and you’ll see it’s effortless later.

Find Accountability

Make yourself accountable. Find a friend to workout with and make it a goal to do this, that and the other together and then answer to one another. When you have someone to disappoint, you’re not going to want to fail. You’re going to want to succeed so that the other person is not disappointed in you.

Do Something Different Every so Often

Change up your routine and you’ll find it doesn’t become too repetitive and difficult to deal with. Go ahead and make it a point to try different exercises on different days and you’ll find it that much easier to work out regularly.

Reward Yourself

Do something good for you if you succeed in doing your workouts daily for a month, two months, three months. Treat yourself to a massage, or a new outfit or something else you love. When you have something to look forward to, it’s more fun to get it done.
