Working out to get the exercise you need to maintain a great physique and good health is a great goal for anyone to have. However, it’s not always easy to become accountable for your workouts. In fact, working out is something most people look at as a tedious activity rather than one they enjoy, which causes them to find excuses and reasons not to do it. If you really want to make working out a routine, it’s time to make that happen.

Be Accountable

Workout with a friend or create some sort of system that makes you admit you worked out each day to someone else. When you have to account for your workout schedule to someone else, it makes it harder to skip out on working out. You don’t want to disappoint others, embarrass yourself or listen to yourself make excuses that sound weak even to you.

Make it a Habit

It takes 21 days to make a habit. Remind yourself of this everyday as you are working out and you’ll find it easier to get to that 21 day mark and officially make your workout a habit. By this point, you’ll consider it part of your daily routine without hesitation. It’ll be like brushing your teeth; you do it because it’s what you’re supposed to do and because it’s ingrained in your mind and memory to do it at a certain time each day.

Make it Fun

Working out is much easier to do when it’s something you enjoy. For example, if you hate the gym with a passion, you’re not going to want to go. However, if you love to jog and play tennis, making that your workout each day is going to give you something to look forward to. Try making your workouts something you love such as dancing, sports or swimming. When you love it, you’re more likely to do it.
