Whether you’re on a strict diet or you simply like to incorporate a healthier eating lifestyle into your life, there are some things you’re eating – or not eating – that might be doing more damage than good. Why? Because you need certain things in your diet – and certain things not in your diet – that promotehealthy muscles. Sometimes when you diet, you forget that this is important and you end up cutting things out that might be causing muscle loss.

Too Few Carbs

There was a time when every fad diet on the market told us that calories are awful. They are terrible. They are the worst thing in the world. If you want to be thin and beautiful, then you need to cut out as many calories as you possibly can from your life. Calories are bad. The truth is this; calories are not bad. They’re actually good. You need them to survive. By cutting out too many, you’re causing muscle loss, which is bad.

No Protein

Not eating enough protein? Then you’re not going to build muscle. In fact, you’re going to lose muscle with a diet like this. Protein is what causes your muscles to grow and maintain their current healthy status. Without enough of it in your diet, you’re going to notice muscle loss and the negative health effects that go along with that.

Forgetting to Exercise

No matter what you do to look good, you have to exercise to actually become healthy. There’s no point in looking good from the outside if you’re killing your insides one body part at a time. This means it’s time to get up and get moving. No one says you have to join the gym and sweat it out hours a day. You simply have to live an active lifestyle. Join a sports team, go hiking, go biking, walk, dance, do yoga, or swim. It’s easy.
