Three Reasons You Are Always So Tired

There’s no reason you should be so tired after getting a solid nine hours sleep and going to bed at a decent time each night. However, you are still exhausted, and find yourself nodding off at your desk and yawning by mid morning each day. Even if you get plenty of sleep, eat right, and get plenty of exercise you might still be tired. That’s because there are a few things that go on in your life that make you tired, and you aren’t even aware of it.

Acid Reflux

You may not even know you have it. Think about what you feel like when you wake up in the morning. If you have sour tasting breath, you might have this. It keeps you awake at night without you even knowing it’s keeping you awake, and without showing symptoms throughout the day.

What you can do is stop drinking alcohol after dinner, don’t eat within two hours of going to bed, remove acidic foods from your diet, and stop taking over the counter painkillers. These things all make your acid reflux worse, and therefore your sleep not as good as you think it is.

The Bathroom Calls

If you wake up several times a night to use the restroom, you are grossly interrupting your sleep. Even if you are in bed and think you’re sleeping for eight or nine hours, you’re losing out on the most important sleep of the night by waking up to use the restroom.

Stop drinking a few hours before bed, and use the restroom before going to bed to make this stop.

Alcohol

Drinking before bed may make you feel more tired than you already are, and you may sleep more deeply for the first half of the night, but as your body metabolizes the alcohol in your system, it interrupts your sleep. This is a common cause of keeping you up halfway through the night and giving you nightmares.

Don’t drink within a few hours of bed, and always chase your alcohol with water to help water down the alcohol in your body, which eliminates dehydration.
