Don’t Mistake Discount Blinds for Cheap Blinds

The quality of the items you use to decorate your home makes a huge difference in the way that your home appears in the eyes of others. For example, when you choose to save money utilizing cheap finishes and fixtures, it can make even the most elegant and upscale home look cheap and unfinished. Perhaps you’ve heard that it’s the little things in life that matter most, and the same is true for your home. Many homeowners assume spending more on the big stuff and saving on the little things doesn’t matter, but it matters most. Imagine this; a million dollar home with upgraded appliances, cabinets and countertops fitted with cheap faucets, metal sinks and plastic mini-blinds that cost $3 a piece – it sounds awful, doesn’t it?

Your home’s small details matter significantly; and blinds are one of the most noticeable things about any home. They’re noticeable from the inside and the out and when you choose cheap blinds, you do yourself and your home a great disservice. Don’t get us wrong, however. There is a difference between cheap blinds and discount blinds; and there is nothing wrong with discount blinds.

Where to find Discount Blinds

These are often blinds sold by wholesalers and stores offering sales on their services. These are wooden or faux wooden blinds that are much more aesthetically appealing. They’ll add a touch of elegance and class to any home, without the look of cheap plastic. A quick internet search will provide you with dozens of locations for inexpensive quality blinds in your area.

Why Go with Wood or Faux Wood?

They’re so much nicer to look at. They’re wider, they’re quieter and they’re not such a cheap plastic or metal. Those are the kinds of blinds one might expect to find in a classroom, a mobile home or anywhere in between. They’re not quality blinds.

They’re Cheaper in the Long Run

When you buy quality blinds, you’ll end up spending less over time. They’re easy to clean and durable, which means that you will keep them for years. Prior to purchasing our new home, we had faux wood blinds in our old house for the past 10 years and they look just as good now as they did when we first built the house, which is why we had them installed in the new house as well. Unlike people who have cheap blinds that bend and break and aren’t easy to clean, we don’t have to replace ours two or three times a year. Yes, they are cheap; but that adds up.
