Improve Your Home’s Curb Appeal On A Budget

When people see your home from the outside they are forming their first impression of you and your family. What are they seeing? If the thought of that makes you cringe then you probably have some work to do on the curb appeal of your home.

Curb appeal is a term that sounds like it takes lots of money to look nice.  But that is simply not true.  You can put money into your curb appeal but you can do a lot of improvements simply by using what you have on hand.  What projects do require money can be done on a budget.

Let’s talk about how you can start some improvements on your curb appeal for little or no money.  The first improvements you can tackle involve neatness. Most of us are guilty of letting a few things gather where they shouldn’t on our porches or patios. Take the time to put those away. And if you want to improve your decks or patios, you may consider using quality materials like Brazilian Wood.

Take a look at the cleanliness of the exterior of your home.  Does it need to be pressure washed?  How about your porches?  Could they use a good scrubbing?  Things like this can be done to improve your curb appeal for little to no money.

As for curb appeal projects that are on a budget, one of the most important things you can do is to replace your mailbox if it is showing its age.  Mailboxes are fairly cheap and make a big impression.  If you want to go a little farther than you could put a little garden flag under the box itself or plant flowers around it.

What about adding a wreath and welcome mat to your front door?  And while we are talking about the front door, when is the last time it had a coat of paint?

As you can see, you can improve your curb appeal easily with no money or a very small amount.
