Laundry Day Made Easier

Laundry; it’s the worst invention ever. I don’t know about you, but I certainly feel less than fondly about doing laundry. No matter what I do, however, it continues to multiply and I do at least one load each day. Now don’t get me wrong; I don’t mind tossing the laundry into the washing machine or even into the dryer. It’s the folding and putting away I despise. Actually, I really despise the entire process. However, laundry, like taxes, is inevitable so here are a few tips that will help you get your laundry done faster and more efficiently.

Buy Three Hampers

It’s not exactly a space saver, but it’s a time saver. Buy three different laundry hampers and label each one. Now your entire family knows where to put their whites, darks, and towels and you don’t have to be the one that does all the separating. There – you just saved five minutes every time you do laundry.

Wash Larger Loads

If you can wash it all in one load, then do it! If your washer doesn’t wash big loads, consider buying a washer that can handle more laundry so that you can have more time with your family.

Use the Drying Cycles

What? Drying cycles? What’s that? Guess what; those buttons and knobs on the back of the dryer (you know, the ones behind your laundry baskets and detergents) are actually useful! All these years I thought it was just that one button I push to make the dryer turn on, but they’re all useful! Who knew? If you use those little buttons and knobs, you can change the drying cycle to adequately dry your clothes in a timely manner. Who knew that jeans don’t dry as quickly as tee shirts? Save time and dry them on the right setting.
