There Are Ways To Make Laundry Day Easier To Tackle

Laundry day can be overwhelming, whether you handle all of your laundry in one day or if you tackle a little bit each day.  Whatever way you handle laundry day at your home, there are some tips and tricks that will make it easier for you to deal with this seemingly endless chore.

Be prepared for laundry day.  One of the most important ways to be prepared for laundry day is to be sure that you have everything that you need before you start.  Another way to be prepared for laundry day is to separate your clothing as you go.  In our home, I have a labeled hamper system that we separate our clothing into as we go.  You can even train your youngest family members to do this.  If they are not old enough to read and comprehend your system, draw pictures or use crayons in the color you want in each certain hamper to help them.

It is also a good idea to pretreat stains.  I will share my secret weapon against stains.  Spray n’ Wash Stain Stick has been my best friend when it comes to treating stains for well over 17 years now.  Coincidentally, that is the time I became a mother and needed to learn to treat stains.

You can also prevent a lot of laundry day woes by regarding the instructions for your laundry.  If you don’t separate correctly or wash in the wrong temperature, you could be asking for disaster.

You can save yourself hours of ironing if you are careful to remove clean laundry from the dryer promptly.  I always make it a habit to fold my laundry in the laundry room, too.  If I allow myself to lay it on the sofa for just a minute, that minute may turn into an hour and the clothing ends up wrinkled.
