Appreciate Life More by Eliminating Three Bad Habits

Let’s not forget to be thankful for all the little, lovely things in life. Thanksgiving, however, is not all about giving thanks. It’s about learning to appreciate and become thankful for things you never really considered. With this in mind, make today the day you learn to be thankful for all things in your life by banning these three things from your life.

Self-Doubt

The only person who stands in your way is you. You are the obstacle you have to overcome to succeed and to make it in life. If you have self-doubt this Thanksgiving (I’ve never made a turkey, what if it’s awful? What if I don’t host a beautiful dinner? What if, what if, what if?), banish it from your thoughts. You’ll never accomplish anything with self-doubt messing with your mind.

People Pleasing

If great Aunt Judy doesn’t like your version of stuffing, tell her to….well, that’s too bad. You can’t make everyone happy. As long as everyone else likes the stuffing, you probably did an amazing job with it and Aunt Judy is just being picky. Don’t fall all over yourself to change your habits, mannerisms and life to please people. These are usually the people that are impossible to please, anyway.

Fear of Failure

Fearing failure is a complete waste of time. Sure, no one likes messing up or making mistakes. However, you can’t succeed until you’ve failed. Failure is not a bad thing; it’s a learning tool. Without failure, you never learn how to improve yourself, your thinking and your behaviors. Don’t let failure become a fear. Let it become a motivator. Every time you fail, you are one step closer (and smarter) to success.
