Facing Rejection with Class and Dignity

Rejection

Facing rejection is absolutely no one’s favorite thing to do. After all, rejection is a “no” and hearing no is never any fun. Unfortunately, we all face rejection at some point in our lives. Some of us face it more than once – or even twice. Some of us feel that rejection is all we get because we focus more on that than on the positives that life has thrown our way. No matter how often you’re rejected, it never gets any easier. However, these tips can help you to handle rejection with class and dignity.

Know it Happens to Everyone

Everyone on the planet at some point in their lives is going to face rejection. Even your favorite movie star, singer, politician or public figure has faced rejection at some point in their lives. Even the most successful, together, with-it people you know have faced rejection. It’s not just you.

Rejection Isn’t a Bad Thing

It’s easy to look at rejection as being a bad thing; but it’s really not. No, it doesn’t feel good and no, it’s no fun. However, it’s productive. Being rejected is like making a mistake; it teaches a lesson. It teaches you something that you’ll carry with you forever; you’ll learn from it. You’ll learn what you did wrong, what you could have done better and what you did that just didn’t work. From this knowledge you’ll learn how to do it right, how to be better and how to make things work in the future. It’s knowledge that’s too good to ignore.

It’s Not Personal

No matter what type of rejection you’re facing, it’s not personal. Really, it’s not. Even if you’ve been rejected by the person of your dreams, it’s not personal. It’s not that you’re not good enough for him or her; it’s that they’re not the right person for you.
