Simplify Your Life in Three Simple Steps

Simplifying life

Simplifying your life might sound like a dream come true, but it’s not that simple to simplify. Women are typically overworked, overtired, and over-everything. Most have kids, jobs, homes, husbands, friends, volunteer opportunities, extracurricular activities and they still have to find time to sleep at some point. Women are stressed and life is not simple for most of us. If we could help you simplify your life in three easy steps, would you do it?

Say No

It’s true that saying no sounds a lot easier than it actually is. You have such good intentions not to accept invitations you’re not really interested in or projects you simply haven’t the time for, but you find yourself agreeing to do things you were prepared to say no to. It’s hard to say no. However, you have to learn to do it. Practice makes perfect. If you don’t have time or you don’t want to, just say it. You don’t have to hurt people’s feelings by saying no. You can tell them you don’t have time. You can be firm and pleasant and simplify your life by just saying no.

Wake Up Early

Instead of sleeping to the last possible moment, wake up a half hour earlier each morning. You might be surprised just how much you can accomplish with an extra half hour each day. If you have an extra half hour to fold laundry, clean up, prepare dinner before you leave, or just relax in the morning, you’ll have less stress in the evening. Imagine coming home from work or from taking your kids everywhere they need to go without the stress of having to clean the house, fold the laundry or handle all the dinner prep because it’s already done. Sounds simple and inviting, right? Right.

Delegate

You are the woman of the house. This gives you power; the power to delegate. If it will simplify your life to have more time to focus on work or your kids, wouldn’t you take it? Well, you can. All you have to do is delegate activities and jobs to others. Make it your husband’s job to clean up after dinner. Make your teens do their own laundry and pack their own lunches. It sounds simple and it is. But the time you’ll save by delegating household tasks to your family will make your life that much simpler.
