10 Restaurants Where Your Kids Can Eat Free

Denny's

Truth; kids are expensive. You already know that, of course, even if you don’t have kids. I mean, you certainly do hear us parents whine often enough about the fact that we have to spend $50 on shoes for kids that they grow out of in about a second and that we spend this much on that and this much on this and that our kids never even use half of it. But that’s one thing; kids grow and we know that. We want them to be stylish and cute, so we spend the $50 on a cute pair of pink, sparkly Sperry deck shoes for them that they’ll grow out of before you know it, and that’s our own personal choice.

I’m here to tell you that the most expensive thing about having kids is feeding them. It’s not the formula and the diapers and the wipes that get me (though they are, admittedly, more expensive than they should be). It’s the food; it’s the dining out. When you go out to eat with your kids, you have to order them food. It might seem like it’s not a big deal, but kids’ food adds up, especially when you’re on a budget or when you have a family of 6. We have four kids (7, 4 and 16-month-old twins) and the biggest waste of money is taking them out to eat. They’re pretty good in public, but they don’t eat!

Our bill ends up over $100 every single time when we take the kids out – and while we expect that on date night when we are at nice restaurants and we order bottles of wine – it’s too much for a casual lunch with the kids. Even when we get one meal for the twins and let them share, we’re still buying three meals. And that means this; three meals, four entire bites taken by the kids, and me picking away at their plates to enjoy just one (400) fries that I didn’t order for myself because I like to eat healthy. It’s lose-lose for everyone. That’s why we love to find restaurants that offer deals for kids. Whether they eat free or they eat for a discount, we always welcome those places since our kids probably won’t eat their food to begin with, and they’ll pick at what they do decide they want. Read on to find out where you can go to eat a reasonably priced meal and enjoy time as a family since the kids are eating free of charge.

Blue Mesa Grill – Sunday Brunch

If you have kids that are 5 and under, you’re going to see them eat free of charge between 9 am and 3 pm on Sundays. The only catch is that you have to purchase an adult meal for the kids to eat free, but that’s not a problem. Some locations do not participate in this, however, so always check before you go.

Moe’s Southwest Grill – Monday

Kids eat free on Mondays with the purchase of an adult entrée, which is nice. The kids’ menu is substantial, so even the pickiest eaters are bound to find something that they want to eat on here to make them – and you – happy with your meal.

Bob Evans – Tuesdays

If you buy an adult meal after 4 pm on Tuesdays, your kids will eat free. This is a nice way to feed them something you all like since they will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day long. The kids will be quite happy with this turn of events.

Cody’s Roadhouse – Monday and Tuesday

For every one adult meal you purchase on these days, you get two free kids’ meals for kids 12 and under. That’s not a bad deal. What makes this one even better is that it’s offered two days a week instead of just one, which is always beneficial.

IHOP – Every Day

Who does not love a pancake meal for dinner? If you have kids that are 12 and under, you get to feed them dinner free of charge every single night after 4 pm as long as they order off the kids’ menu.

Texas Roadhouse – Tuesday

I’m a huge fan of their cinnamon butter and their rolls, and I swear I’d eat here every single night if I could. This place is the bomb. They have the best butter. And kids can eat all they want from the kid’s menu free of charge on Tuesdays. Their website does specify, however, that some locations are only good for this on Mondays, so please take note of that information.

Beef O’Brady’s – Tuesday

Between 4 and 8 pm on Tuesday evenings, kids eat free here so long as they order form the kids’ menu. The good news is that everything on the kid’s menu, too, comes in big portions with lots of good sides that kids will love.

Chick-Fil-A – Tuesdays

This is not everywhere, but who does not love Chick-Fil-A? It’s the best; and that is something we are not even remotely joking about. This is a place where your kids will eat free on Tuesdays between 5:30 and 7:30 pm (at participating locations) while they play and you enjoy a little peace and quiet.

Denny’s – Select Nights

To find out which nights your kids can eat free at Denny’s, you will need to contact your local restaurant and ask. The different locations vary their nights, so always check first. Kids will eat free from 4 to 10 pm on certain nights, however, and that’s fun when you are looking for a free meal for your kids.

Gator’s Dockside –Every Day

If you are hungry and want to go somewhere with good food and drinks, this is the place to go. The good news, too, is that kids here eat free between the hours of 6 and 8:30 pm, every single night. That’s a lot of free food if you like to go out and want to keep your cost to a minimum.
