15 Fall Bucket List Activities to Enjoy This Season

16

Now that fall is officially here, it’s time to do something special. This year, celebrate the best (in my opinion) season of the year with a fall bucket list. It gives you something to do every weekend, or every night, and it’s perfect for both couples and families with children. The entire family will love the excitement of getting to check something off the bucket list almost as much as the actual enjoyment of each activity. Read on for 15 things to put on your fall bucket list this year.

1

Go to the Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch is one of the most adorable, most fall-like places you can go. Hopefully you live somewhere cool so that you can don your sweaters and boots and spend a few hours searching for the perfect pumpkins.

2

Plan a Haunted Hayride Date

Pretty much every little town in the country has a pumpkin patch, a corn maze and a haunted activity to do during the fall. This fall, grabbed the one you love the most and head out for a fun and inexpensive Friday night date that involves a haunted hayride, a haunted corn maze or a haunted house.

3

Have a Fire

Head outside and put some logs in the fire pit. Grab a couple glass of hot chocolate and enjoy the scent of the cool fall air while you enjoy the warmth of the fire as the sun goes down. Extra points for those of you who make s’mores, too.

4

Go to a Football Game

Get tickets to the next home game at your alma matter. Bust out your college gear and spend a few hours watching them dominate the field – hopefully.

Watch Hocus Pocus

It’s on every single channel every time you turn around. There is nothing quite as fall-like as watching this great movie from your childhood. It makes you think of fall and it gets you into the fall spirit.

6

Decorate the Porch

You’ll need pumpkins and a wreath and a cauldron and anything else you want to use to decorate your front porch for the fall holidays. It’s a great way to encourage the family to get together and spend some time outdoors.

7

Carve Pumpkins

What’s more fall-oriented than carving pumpkins? Make it a family affair the night you get home from the pumpkin patch or gather your friends and have a carving competition.

8

Make Something With Pumpkin

Whether it’s your own pumpkin bread, muffins, cookies or latte, make something pumpkin-y. If you’re not a pumpkin lover, make something with cinnamon. Just the scent is enough to make you feel the fall spirit.

9

Plan a Scary Movie Night

This is more appropriate for those of you without children, since you don’t want any little nightmares. If you do have kids, it’s the kind of fall activity you plan on after the kids fall asleep.

10

Have a Chili Cook Off

What’s better than a bowl of warm chili on a cool fall evening? Nothing! Invite your friends and family over for a chili cook off and enjoy your time together.

Trick 'r Treat

Go Trick or Treating

Whether it’s around your neighborhood or the event your town throws every year, head out on Halloween night with your cute kids in tow, some clever costumes and a couple of big bags.

12

Throw a Halloween Party

Nothing’s more fun than encouraging creativity, which is exactly what a Halloween party does. Make sure it’s a mandatory costume-wearing event to make it even more fun.

13

Order a Pumpkin Spice Latte

You have to try it, just once. You don’t have to like it – but it’s impossible not to love – but it’s such a fall thing to do. Order one. Try it. Love it. Become addicted.

14

Decorate with Cinnamon Candles

Now that you can open the windows and enjoy the fresh air, buy some cinnamon candles and decorate with these gorgeous additions. Light them out of reach of children to add a seductively delicious scent to the air.

15

Bake an Apple Pie

Finally, bake an apple pie. Then bring it to me, but don’t forget the vanilla bean ice cream. Oh, sorry, I got caught up in the moment. You can eat it, because it will be delicious. But you can also bring it to me. I’ll eat it, too. Because it’s delicious.
