The Best All-Natural Hair Masks You Can Make at Home

The health of your hair is important. That’s why so many women forgo the expensive salon treatments and make their own at-home hair masks. These masks are made of all natural ingredients rather than those chemical filled products you find in the stores. If you’re interested in making your own hair masks, we have a few you can try at home.

Eggs

It’s the best kind of treatment mask for hair. It’s filled with protein that mends your hair and makes it appear healthier and stronger. You’re going to want to do nothing more than simply apply some egg to your hair for the best possible results. You’ll whip it up and leave it in your hair for 20 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Warm water can actually cook the egg, which is disgusting. If you’re hair is oilier than dry, don’t use the yolk; just the egg whites.

Beer

If you have dry and fine hair, you’re going to want to apply some beer to your strands. Beer is so good for your hair because it allows you to plump up your sad tresses. The key here is to let your beer sit out for a few hours to get rid of the carbonation. Next, you will mix it with a little sunflower or canola oil – just a teaspoon or so – and one raw egg. Mix it together and put it in your hair for 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water.

Avocado

If your hair is frizzy and an overall disaster in the humid summer months, you will want to try this mask at home. Get excited because it’s one of the easiest masks to make. All you need is a half avocado mashed up with a half tablespoon of either sour cream or milk and apply it to your hair. Let it sit on your hair for 15 minutes before rinsing. You’ll only need to use this hair mask every 2 weeks or so.

Baking Soda

If you have product buildup in your hair, mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with enough water to create a paste. This paste is going to help you to keep the product from building up as quickly in your hair in the future, and it will take the current buildup right out. It stays in for 15 minutes and can be rinsed right out in the shower with hot or cold water.

Honey

If your hair is heat damaged (and whose isn’t?) you’ll want to use this mask every few weeks. All you need is a half cup of honey and a teaspoon of your favorite oil mixed in to loosen the honey and make it easier to apply and get out of your hair. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse it out as you shower. You will be amazed at how much more moisture you have in your hair at that point.
