Move over Gwyneth – Blake Lively has launched Preserve – a lifestyle and shopping site. The actress admits this endeavor was a bit intimidating in her Letter from the Editor, comprised mostly of of single sentence paragraphs. “Sitting down to write this editor’s letter has been the hardest thing I’ve done yet on my Preserve journey,” wrote the 26-year old actress wife of actor Ryan Reynolds. “I’m more intimidated than I should probably admit. I’m no editor, no artisan, no expert. And certainly no arbiter of what you should buy, wear, or eat.”

The Gossip Girl alum went on to say the idea behind her new site—which she’s dubbed “part magazine, part e-commerce hub, [and] part philanthropic endeavor”—is that “everyone has a story to tell.” “Here at Preserve, there are people, stories, essays, videos, and goods that hopefully inspire your home, your style, and your tongue,” the Age of Adaline actress added. “There’s expensive stuff. Inexpensive stuff. And everything in between. But their value, that’s up to you. We romanticize it, calling it treasure. What we’re simply saying is that we see their worth on every level.”

In case Lively’s explanation of her new venture was slightly confusing, Vogue magazine explained it as follows –  “The site will seek out and celebrate people all over America who are making things—food, clothes, pillows, dishes, dining-room tables—with their hands.”

As far as for the shopping aspect of the site, Preserve is divided into the categories of Ladies, Gents, Home, and Taste. The prices range from totally affordable to expensive. For women, the site had a cool array of jewelry, wallets, hats, clothing, and bags by such brands as Saressa Designs (jewelry), Worth & Worth (hats), and Mother Denim (jeans). The Taste section currently offers unique items like curry-flavored ketchup, black truffle salt, bloody mary mix, and aprons.

Lively’s next venture is most likely promoting her 2015 movie, The Age of Adaline, about a woman who becomes immortal after a car accident. The film also stars Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn.
