3 Ways Your Job is Bad for Your Overall Health

It doesn’t matter whether your love your job or you hate your job; it might be bad for your health. The overall health effects caused by your work environment might be worth sprucing up your resume or at least putting things into perspective. You cannot continue to work in conditions that are unhealthy for not only your mind, but your body as well.

Pressure

Everyone finds themselves under pressure at their job from time to time. However, when you feel the pressure every single day of your life without any sign of it letting up, you’re too stressed. This kind of pressure from your job can cause you to have anxiety, stress and even high blood pressure. You need to find a way to remove some of the pressure from yourself before it is too late.

Being Sedentary

Sitting at your desk all day long is bad for your health. While your job may require that your work be done on the computer most of the time, make sure you schedule plenty of time in which you can get up and get some fresh air and a little exercise. A walk to lunch, a membership at the gym or even a half hour yoga class each day can help you make up for your sedentary profession.

Insurance

If your job does not offer you the benefit of health insurance, it might be time to find one that does. The stress of not having health insurance is one thing, but not having it is another. Not being insured means you are less likely to go to the doctor when you really need to. This means you might miss important appointments that could be helpful to your health. Get insurance or get a new job that offers health insurance as a job benefit.
