Dealing With a Flirtatious Boyfriend or Husband

Men, and women for that matter, are naturally flirtatious. Maybe not all of them, but a lot of them. So, what are you to do when you are the significant other of a man who flirts all the time? Do you not care because you do the same thing when you’re out and about and you are confident that his flirting is just as harmless as yours, or is it something that really bothers you? If you have a flirtatious boyfriend, there are a few ways you can handle this situation.

Tell Him

You have to communicate the issues you have with your flirtatious boyfriend or husband. If you cannot stand the fact that he’s always flirting with women he works with, waitresses, friends, and random women when he’s out, you need to tell him. If he really loves you, he will work on being less flirtatious because he doesn’t want to hurt you. If he doesn’t, it might be time to reevaluate your relationship. A man who truly loves a woman never does anything to hurt her. However, you have to let him know it’s hurting or he may not know.

Ask Him Why

It’s important to ask him why he is so flirtatious. Don’t be confrontational, just ask. Perhaps he flirts with other women because you don’t flirt with him and he’s starved for attention. That doesn’t make it right, but understanding what’s behind his flirtation can help you deal with the situation.

Trust Him

Unless you have proof that he’s a cheater, trust that his flirtation is just that; innocent flirtation. Again, if he understands it hurts you and he’s a good guy, he will change his bad habit. However, it’s important that you keep your emotions in check and not jump to conclusions without proof that his flirtatious behavior has gone too far.
