2014 Oscar Fashion Predictions

Between fashion week and the upcoming Oscar ceremonies, haute couture is the kind of fashion on everyone’s mind these days. For the most part, we all tune into the Oscars to see what the most celebrated stars of the season will be wearing on the red carpet; to judge and ooh and ahh over their choices and wonder, “What was she thinking?” over others. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what the world expects to see on the red carpet during the 2014 Oscar ceremony.

Pastels

The stylists to the stars are predicting that the red carpet of this year’s Academy Awards is going to be jam packed with stars in pastel hues, including soft lavenders, pinks and greens. Expect to see dazzling gowns in soft colors by the likes of designers such as Zuhair Murad. These colors are not only soft and elegant, they offer a look that’s becoming of just about any shape and size; women of all different colors and ethnic backgrounds look amazing in pastels, and designers know this.

Daring Appeal

Sexy is in this year. Stylists would love to see the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts decked out in form fitting gowns that leave much to the imagination save for a sexy attribute such a backless silhouette or an up-to-there slit. A plunging neckline or two on these always chic celebs wouldn’t hurt anyone’s feelings either.

Stunning Structure

Whether it’s a bold sleeve, big bow or a waistline with a dazzling flair, this is the look that’s bound to stun on this year’s Oscar red carpet. If fashion week has anything to say about this look, gowns with a fitted bodice and structured additions are going to be big on the red carpet. It’s a look that stars such as Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lawrence and even Meryl Streep can pull off with class and elegance.
