Find someone who doesn’t consider a Tina Fey/Amy Poehler Golden Globe moment anything less than hilarious and I’ll show you someone who didn’t watch last year’s Globes. This dynamic duo is back again this weekend to host the famous award show – and undoubtedly use a little dry humor to make everyone watching laugh hysterically.
If you thought they did a stellar job at last year’s Golden Globes, you were right. Here’s hoping they can channel from last year’s hilarious moments and create an even funnier, more amusing Globe night this year. After all, most of us watch only for the fashion and the funnies. We don’t care who wins or loses.
Getting Cozy with the Big Stars
When the two hosts of the 2013 Golden Globes were being announced as nominees for Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical, they had to find seats in the audience. But where does one sit when she’s the host of the show? On the lap of a celebrity, of course. Amy Poehler anxiously awaited to find out who won in her category while sitting on the lap of none other than George Clooney while Fey decided to cozy right on up to J.Lo. Neither won for Best Actress, but I don’t think either cared – especially Poehler seeing as how she ended up with the best seat in the house. Who needs a Best Actress Globe when you have George Clooney’s lap to call home?
Joking with Jodie
While it might or might not have come as a big surprise to anyone when Jodie Foster announced that she’s a proud lesbian woman, it happened. The gorgeous actress came out of the closet during her acceptance speech and made Golden Globes history; at the end of the night, Fey and Poehler made Globe-worthy jokes. As the signed off from their duties as hosts, they happily informed they world they were going home with Jodie Foster.
They Applauded Meryl Streep
We know her as one of the world’s most amazing actresses with one of the most impressive careers, but Meryl Streep was not in attendance at last year’s Globes. The actress was sick with the flu, which the hosts joked she is probably amazing in. Of course…they’re right. What isn’t Meryl Streep amazing in?
