Five Inspirational Quotes from the Movie Frozen

Frozen

If I’ve learned anything as a parent in the past year, it’s that Frozen is probably never going to be gone from my life. With a 6-and-a-half year-old daughter and a daughter who is turning 4 in a few weeks it’s inevitable that this movie is part of my day-to-day life. Both girls have their bedrooms decorated with Elsa and Anna stuff; they dress in Elsa and Anna stuff and I have to do their hair like Elsa and Anna. They have it ALL. There is nothing Frozen-related we do not own. And there is nothing we want more than to avoid hearing the phrase “Let it go,” every single day. All in all, it could be worse. They could love Max & Ruby as much as they like Frozen and then we’d really be miserable (If you aren’t sure what Max & Ruby is, they are a couple of rabbits. She’s the big sister and she’s a rude, entitled little brat who makes you want to ground her forever and he’s the little brother always being ordered around by his mean sister even though he’s usually right and in the know. And WHERE are their parents?!). Since Frozen isn’t going anywhere anytime soon (did anyone else here the rumors of a second one already?), we might as well take some inspiration from the movie. Here are five kind of awesome quotes that we can focus on when we are trying everything possible not to rip the DVD from the player and toss it out the car window.

“Let it Go,” – Elsa

No, seriously, let it go. Just let it go. We can’t control everything, we can’t worry about what other people say, and we need to just relax. Fear and anxiety are no fun, so let’s just let it go and move on. She says it best, and it shouldn’t be a hard lesson to remember since we hear it 1,000 times a day.

“Only the act of true love will thaw a frozen heart,” – Olaf

Some people seem to be heartless, and chances are pretty good it’s because they’re lonely. If you really love someone as openly and honestly as you know how, whether romantically or as a friend, you can change their entire life; starting with their heart.

“It’s funny how some distance makes everything seem small,” – Elsa

Ever wonder why getting away from home, the people who hurt you and your everyday life suddenly makes everything in your life seem like it’s not all that much of a big deal? Distance has a way of allowing you a different perspective, which is good. When you remove yourself from a situation, you can really see how serious it is – or isn’t.

“Fear will be your enemy,” Grandfather Troll

Isn’t it always? The old saying is that there is nothing to fear but fear itself and that seems to be the absolute truth. Stop being afraid and be awesome, instead. It’s a pretty good concept and lesson we really shouldn’t have to learn from a troll.

“The heart is not so easily changed, but the head can be persuaded” – Grandfather Troll

It’s true. The heart can be very difficult to change; it wants what it wants after all (thanks Selena Gomez. We’ll pretend you’re not referring to the Biebs here). The mind, however, can be easily changed. Sometimes it’s a good thing and sometimes it’s not.
