Joshua Ledet Makes American Idol History: Best EVER
The 11th season of American Idol is full throttle and geeze, Louise– the competition is fierce this year! I have been watching the show since it first aired in 2002 and ten years later I’m still glued to the tube when the Idol curtain is drawn. I’ve been discussing the show with my Idol-crazed crazed peers and honestly, as I shared with them, I am starting to get a little agitated that some of the best talent that has graced the American Idol stage went M.I.A. Anyway, that’s a whole new topic but I had to mention it because of my American Idol favotite this year.Whether this fella makes it to the winner’s circle or not, I’m pretty sure he is set in his career.
Can I get an “Amen” for Joshua Ledet? WOW! WOW! WOW! In ALL of the years of watching American Idol I was never as jolted as I was last Wednesday night. The Idol contestants had to choose a song from their birth year; Joshua chose Michael Bolton’s version of Percy Sledge’s “When A Man Loves A Woman”. (If Michael Bolton was watching I would imagine he felt a bit out-done. Sorry!) That song has been performed probably hundreds of times and nobody has done it justice like Joshua Ledet. As a matter of fact, Percy Sledge sent a PERSONAL email to the show commending Joshua on his performance. (I’m really not exaggerating.) Not only was I brought to tears, I kept re-watching Joshua’s performance on my DVR. Before the show came on that night I received a call from a friend who lives on the east coast (I live in Los Angeles) and she told me, “Just wait until you see the show tonight. I won’t tell you anything, but you’re going blown out of the water.” This was the first time my friend ever called with a preface to the show, so my curiosity was spiked. I had no idea I was going to see the best performance in American Idol history. So who is Joshua Ledet and where did he learn how to sing like that? Beyond his mind-blowing performance, what you’re about to find out about Josh’s history with American Idol may surprise you.

I am an American Idol fan as well. I have been watching from the beginning however in recent years I haven’t been as faithful as in the first few. This performance was spectacular without a doubt. I can’t say that it’s the best ever since I can’t remember all the performances but it is definitley in the top 5. What an incredibly talented young man and what nicely written piece on his performance.

I really don’t watch American Idol I believe preformers and entertainers should pay their dues. My daughter watches though and I do catch some of it. With that being said…..This is a very talented man who shows A LOT of promise!!!! I agree 100%!!

He is not as good as nor ever will be in Adam Lambert’s voice range or class. I think the judges have gotten a bit goofy. Simon Cowell was the only one who spoke the harsh truth. He gave Adam the only standing Ovation of his judging years.
