Make Summer Entertaining a Lot More Gorgeous

Spring is here and with summer just around the corner it’s time to think about how you plan on entertaining in the great outdoors. The beautiful weather, blue skies and warm temperatures make it nearly impossible not to want to head outside and enjoy the sunset from your back porch or the afternoon sunlight while soaking up the rays by the pool. With these simple steps, you can make your next outdoor soiree the most amazing one yet.

Light it Up

Use the great outdoors as a way to incorporate a little natural light into your evenings. When the sun goes down and the night calls for a little light use your natural resources. It’s too warm for a fire, but it’s perfect for a few little candles and some natural light. Place a few randomly sized white candles, from tealights to pillars, in the center of the table and light them for a little ambiance.

It might be easier to use disposable plates and utensils when you’re outside this summer, but it’s not always prettier. This time of year is perfect for multicolored, inexpensive, reusable plates and utensils that will bright up your party and your mood. Pick up a few in varying colors and mix it up this summer season. Use colorful napkins to accentuate the colors in your plates…a colorful design can make it an even more fun party.

Music

If you don’t have a surround sound system, try using your i-whatever (iPad, iPod, iPhone…) to create a little musical fun throughout the yard. A few wireless speakers, your i-whatever attached to your laptop inside the house and let the music wash over you during your party. Place the speakers around your patio and it will almost feel like you have a state-of-the-art surround sound going on.
