Celebrity Brides Who Wore Unique Wedding Gowns

"Covert Affairs" Panel - Comic-Con 2011

Piper Perabo, star of Coyote Ugly and Covert Affairs, was married this past weekend, and she joins a list of celebrities who’ve thought outside-the-box when choosing their wedding gowns. The pretty blonde actress wore a fantastic long-sleeved, high-necked, animal-print gown in striking silver. She paired her Michael Kors creation with a gold veil and looked unique and beautiful when she married her long-time boyfriend, director Stephen Kay, in New York City.  Here are some other beautiful brides who strayed from original white, and instead went for original and distinctive when choosing their wedding gowns.

Shenae Grimes

Shenae Grimes, star of the CW’s 90210 reboot, chose a stunning black and grey Vera Wang gown when she married model and musician Josh Beech in May 2013. The bride’s black “Josephine” gown from Vera Wang’s Fall 2012 collection was a V-neck halter dress featuring a chantilly lace bodice, distressed organza and shadow lace flowers at the neck, and a multi-layered crinkle tulle skirt.

Kaley Cuoco

If not white, celebrities seem to think pink! The Big Bang Theory‘s leading lady and her professional tennis player husband Ryan Sweeting had their fairy tale wedding on New Years Eve 2013. After only three months of dating, Cuoco walked down the aisle in a pink dress by designer Vera Wang.

Keira Knightley

Even though she went with white, the gorgeous actress went short and sweet in an off-white Chanel strapless ivory tulle dress. When the actress married rocker James Righton last year, she also was innovative by pairing it with a Chanel jacket. But what really made this a unique choice? It wasn’t new! The actress had worn the dress before and then wore it again, with and without added sheer sleeves! “Karl [Lagerfeld] very kindly designed me a jacket to go with it. I’d worn the dress lots. It was my something old. And I liked not making a big deal about it,” she told The Telegraph. “I just wanted to be in something I had had a great time in, something I would have a great time in again.”

Jessica Biel

Justin Timberlake’s lucky lady chose a frothy pink confection by Giambattista Valli when they married in Italy in October 2012. The actress told Elle that she wanted a dress that is “very romantic and feminine and a shape that I very rarely wear.” She continued,  “I have never been crazy about all-white wedding dresses, for me at least…It was a bit of a leap of faith at the time, but it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. [Putting it on], I felt like I had made the right choice. I felt elegant. And it moved like a dream.”

Gwen Stefani

The No Doubt singer also turned to pretty pink for her wedding day, walking down the aisle in this stunning silk faille, dip-dyed number by John Galliano. At her 2002 wedding to Gavin Rossdale, she paired her super feminine dress with a floral lace veil.
