Three Reasons to Get Excited about Fashion Week

It’s that time of year again, the time in which celebrities and designers flock to New York City for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week events that draw out the biggest names in fashion. From designer goods such as Chanel and Hermes to celebrity fashionistas such as Kerry Washington and Anna Wintour, it seems everyone who is anyone makes it a point to attend the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week events. Here are three reasons the rest of us – the non-celebrity fashionistas – look forward to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The Celebrities

For a week beginning on the sixth, every entertainment news program and online celebrity gossip site is going to be full of fabulous celebrities in the most amazing clothing. From Blake Lively to Gwen Stefani, our favorite fashion mavens will be out in full force, dressed to the nines to impress. Fashion week brings out the stars in droves, and it brings out our inner star-obsession for no other reason than our desire to drool over shoes and handbags and dresses galore.

The Styles

What else does one pay attention to fashion week for if not the styles? While most of us won’t wear what’s on the runway (you’ve watched fashion shows before; it’s not exactly street friendly), we will get to see examples of what we will be wearing in the next few months as far as texture, material and color go. It gives us something to look forward to.

The Inspiration

When you dress yourself, you probably look for inspiration somewhere. Whether you’re inspired by the gorgeous blends of pinks and reds and oranges in last night’s sunset or the gorgeous ensemble Reese Witherspoon wore on her last talk show appearance, you have some sort of style inspiration. There is no style inspiration more loved and appreciated than the style that comes from fashion week. You’ll have so much inspiration that you’ll be able to come up with dozens of different outfits simply by watching one show and the celebrities sitting in the front row. It’s called channeling your inner celebrity.
