Forgive Those Who Hurt You With This Advice

To forgive is supposed to be this great thing, but in reality; it’s really difficult. How are you supposed to forgive someone who has hurt you so badly that you are in this position in the first place? You might want to, but don’t feel that you can. Maybe you don’t want to, but you know that you need to. Forgiveness isn’t for the person who hurt you. Forgiveness is for you, which is why it’s important to take the time you need to forgive those who hurt you. Just remember; you don’t have to forget just because you decide to forgive.

Remember That You Aren’t Perfect

One way to help make forgiveness easier is to remember that you are not perfect yourself. Wouldn’t you want people to remember that if they had to forgive you? I would. Sometimes, people make mistakes and forgiving them isn’t easy. However, remembering that everyone is flawed might make it easier for you to realize that mistakes happen.

Put Yourself in Their Shoes

Something about forgiveness that you should remember is that when you are wrong, you probably want people to try to see things from your point of view. When you put yourself in someone else’s shoes, it might make it easier to forgive them. It can give you a better idea of why they did what they did because of the way they were feeling at the moment.

Life is Short

When deciding whether or not to forgive someone, remember that life is very short and that you have to do what you have to do. You don’t have to forgive right this second, but at the end of the day; is holding a grudge and holding onto your anger really going to benefit you in any way? Remember; you don’t have to be someone’s friend ever again if they hurt you and you choose to forgive them. You can forgive and move on.
