How To Curb Your Relationship Jealousy

Whether you are in a long term relationship, a new relationship, married for 10 years, or just want badly to date a certain someone, you might occasionally encounter a little jealousy. While a little jealousy is perfectly healthy, a lot is not. If you have jealousy issues you need to learn how to curb them before they become a bigger problem. Additionally, you need to take a step back and ask yourself why you are experiencing these extreme relationship jealousy issues, and whether or not your current man is to blame.

Count to 10

The next time you’re with your man and you feel a surge of jealousy because the waitress gets just a little too friendly with him, pause, hold your breath, and count to 10. Let your breath go and relax. If you need to, take a few more deep breaths to curb your urge to show your jealousy.

Talk About It

If your man has a wandering eye, not to say he’s a cheater, but the kind of guy who just can’t help staring at another woman or flirting, talk to him about it. Getting jealous and angry and saying nothing is not helping the situation. By talking to him about the way he makes you feel, you can make the situation easier to deal with: Or nonexistent.

Handle Your Own Insecurities

I’m going to be blatantly honest here and say that when I witness another woman flirting with my husband, it’s a huge ego-boost for me. Rather than becoming jealous – I trust him implicitly and know under no circumstances would he reciprocate flirtatiousness or do anything inappropriate – my feelings of being married to a sexy, handsome, amazing man are completely validated and it reminds me how blessed I am to be the one who gets to take him home each night. It also makes me feel hot, because he’s hot and he picked me! Figure out what your insecurities are, because that’s what is making you feel jealous, and work on them.
