Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions For the Entire Year

running

It’s been more than a month since all resolved to make positive changes in our lives. We’d have the best year ever, we’d lose weight, exercise more, put our health first, spend more time with the kids, stop yelling at the kids, be more patient, learn a new language or just stop doing all the things that make us momentarily happy and perpetually miserable. We had good intentions, and most of us have already noticed that we’re failing in our endeavors. We’re eating a bit too much cake and not enough broccoli, we’re not actually going to the gym or working out at home those 4 days a week we swore we would. We’re failing at our resolutions. But just because we haven’t succeeded just yet does not mean we cannot still succeed. It’s never too late to make a positive change in your life, and we have a few ideas that will help you make your resolutions stick the rest of the year.

Write it Down

Have a resolution, write it down; all day long you’ll have good luck. All right, so that might have been about finding a penny on the ground or something to that effect. However, you get what I’m saying. Write that stuff down and you will see that you have the serious ability to keep up with your resolutions. That reminder is important.

Make it a Habit

Did you know it only takes 21 days to make something a habit? Once you do something for 21 days, you will just do it. It’s no longer something you have to think about or consider; you just do it. Make your resolutions habits and they’ll be simple to stick to for the rest of the year.

Be Accountable

Find a friend or family member who is looking to do the same thing as you and make yourselves a team. When you have someone who is aware of what you’re doing and makes you accountable, it’s only a matter of time before you have to do the same thing. You can easily let yourself down, but it’s hard to let others down.
