Listening to life advice from people you did not ask advice of is not something you enjoy that often. However, you will always find yourself in a situation where advice is being offered to you no matter how much you do not want to hear it. Right now is one of those situations: I am full of good advice for you that you may not understand at the moment, but someday you will think back on my words and understand the advice I am giving. This advice is advice you should live by, every day, all day.
The best things in life are not things. The best things in life are experiences you experience, adventures you take, accomplishments you achieve, and the people you love. Fun, memories, laughter, and moments are the best things in life.
Most of the stuff you worry about never even happens. Besides that, worrying accomplishes nothing. You can spend all day long worrying that you might lose your job in this economy, but what is that going to accomplish? Absolutely nothing; all that worrying does is distract you from doing your job to the best of your ability and from enjoying life. If you lose your job, you can worry. Until then, it’s pointless.
The people you meet will change your life forever. It doesn’t matter if that person is the most insignificant person you can think of, in some way they have forever changed your life. If you let this thought guide you through life you will do much better. For example, that man you met in the elevator may not seem significant, but he might be your boss’ boss. If you spent the entire ride complaining about your job, that meeting will affect future promotions or even your current position. By remembering that every person you meet could change your life, you will have a more positive outlook on life.
