Making the Best of Valentine’s Day if you are Single

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and there is a lot that people have to consider before the big holiday arrives. For example, what are you going to do to celebrate? What if you’re single and you have no one with which to celebrate this day of love? That’s the clincher for most single people; they’re left out and kind of depressed and miserable on Valentine’s Day. Everyone else is posting social media photos of new jewelry, engagements, flowers, romantic dinners and sweet gestures and you’re just sitting there like, “Well, I’m still single,” and kind of hating every moment of it. This is a day that is sappy enough to make even happily single men and women feel a bit down. If you are single on Valentine’s Day, you should know you are not alone and you should know that you can celebrate. We have a few suggestions that will help you make the most of this holiday if you are single.

Have a “Me” Day

Book a spa day, stay in bed and read a book, binge watch your favorite new show on Netflix and treat yourself to whatever you want to do this day. It’s all about you, and when you do exactly what you want with no strings attached, it’s a good way to feel instantly good about your situation.

Go Somewhere

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere you’ve never been before. Go on a trip to a place that you’ve always wanted to visit. Visit a shop you’ve always wanted to go to; do something you’ve never done before and make the most of being with yourself trying something new and enriching your experiences on this day.

Get Together with Single Friends

Chances are good that if you are single, you have at least one single friend. After all, you’d be pretty miserable being the only single person in a group of married people, right? Get together with your favorite singles and make the most of the day doing something fun, like heading to an amusement park.
