Popular New Baby Girl Names for 2014

When I was a child, my name was one of the most popular little girls’ names in the world.  My parents named me thinking it was me and the boutique – and then everyone was a Tiffany. It’s the same thing every year; you name your little girl and think that the name you chose is “the best and most unique name ever,” until you enroll your little girl in kindergarten and realize she’s going to be one of 6 “insert name here’s” in her class. That said, here are a few very popular new names for 2014.

Elsa

Elsa: It should shock no one that this is the most popular name in 2014 to date. It’s the name every existing little girls wishes and dreams was her own, and it’s the name young moms are giving their newborn girls on a regular basis. Elsa is the coolest, most awesome new Disney princess, and little girls love her. The name means pledged to God, and it is of German origin.

Everleigh

Everleigh is a rapidly growing popular baby name for little girls in 2014. The name is from old English, and it means of nature. It’s a lovely name that’s growing in popularity thanks to celebrities such as Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum using the name for their little girl.

Henley

Henley is a name that means high meadow. It’s commonly used in Old English countries, and it’s actually a boy’s name.  However, the name Henley is increasingly popular as a girl’s name. In fact, it’s so popular this year that it’s one of the Social Security Administration’s hot new names of the year.

Daleyza

According to the Social Security Administration, Daleyza is one of the most popular new baby girl names of the year. It is a Spanish name that means modern. It certainly fits its meaning, being a unique name that most of us have never heard. But it looks like we’ll all be hearing it regularly in the coming years.

Ireland

It’s the last name of one of the world’s most famous supermodels as well as a lovely country. It’s also one of the most popular new baby girl names in 2014. The name means land of Eriu. It’s an Irish name (shocking) and it’s most commonly used in countries of English speaking origin.
