3 Questions Every Shopping Addict Should Ask Before Buying

If ever there is an addiction to desire, it’s a shopping addiction. Technically, if you can afford to become addicted to shopping, it’s not that bad. However, if you can’t afford to become addicted to shopping, it’s time to find a way to make sure your shopping addiction doesn’t ruin your life. If you find yourself buying things you simply don’t need for reasons you simply can’t understand, it’s time to ask yourself a few questions prior to making any purchase.

Do I Have to Have This?

If you are addicted to shopping to the point that you waste money or spend money you simply don’t have, ask yourself this question first. Chances are you don’t need it. For example, if you’re looking at a new dress for an upcoming wedding, chances are good that you already have a gorgeous dress to wear and you don’t need it. If it’s gas for your car to get you to and from work, you do need it.

Is This the Best Deal?

Never buy anything without first checking to see if it’s the best possible deal. It’s easy to do with all the different shopping apps and price scanners easily downloadable onto your smart phone. You can simply scan the bar code of any item with any of these easy to find apps and see if it’s less expensive anywhere else in your area or even online.

Can I Afford This?

Sometimes you just can’t afford to buy something and you have to face that reality. If you can’t afford to pay for something, then don’t buy it. However, it’s a lot easier to ask yourself this question prior to spending the money than it is to realize it later, when it might be too late. Many items that are on sale or clearance are non-refundable.
