Simple Ways to Make Your Houseguests Feel Welcome

Summer is a primetime for traveling, which means you may have houseguests. If you do, then you will want to make sure they feel welcome and comfortable when they are in your home (think about how annoying it is to visit someone who isn’t prepared for you, and don’t do that to your houseguests). This summer, you can make your guests feel as welcome at your house as they do at the Four Seasons.

Monogrammed Mug

When it comes time to decorate the guest room, do a little something extra for your special guests. Find a mug with their initial on it and fill it with flowers. Place it on a pretty tray and leave it for them to find. As a bonus they can take the mug home with them, which is a nice little parting gift. Your guests will feel that you are that much more excited to have them over since you obviously went the extra mile to make them feel welcome.

Chocolate Treat

One of the best feelings in the world is eating a piece of decadent chocolate. Leave a few of your favorites on a tray or in a little bowl in the guestroom so that your guests can indulge themselves with a sweet treat when they arrive.

Beach Bag

If you have a pool or live on the water it’s a great idea to place a little beach bag in the guest room so that your guests are prepared to spend the day by the water. Fill a straw tote with beach towels, sunscreen, magazines, and bottled water to have them feeling like the most pampered houseguests ever to exist.

Travel Necessities

Of course, most people travel with their favorite bath and beauty products, but keeping a special basket in the guest bath is a great way to let your guests know you care. Place disposable razors, loofahs, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, lotions, toothpaste, new toothbrushes, q-tips, and other bath essentials in the baskets for your guests to use.
