Things to Avoid the Week of Your Wedding

wedding

It’s finally here; your wedding day is only a few days away and you are ready to start your own happily ever after as husband and wife. Even though your to-do list for the wedding and subsequent honeymoon is about six miles long, you are still excited. Keep in mind, however, there are a few things you should avoid at all costs the week of your wedding (really, at all costs). Whatever you do – and you will have plenty to do this week – leave these things off the wedding to-do list.

Coloring Your Hair

You might want to change your hair color or take care of those roots, but don’t (especially if this is one of those box from the grocery store do it yourself kind of deals!). Schedule your hair appointment at least two weeks before your wedding so that your color has time to settle. Additionally, scheduling it this far in advance gives you time to have it fixed if you’re not happy with the outcome for some reason.

A New Haircut

Now is not, not, not the time to decide to cut your hair or try those bangs you’ve been eyeing. Wait until after your honeymoon. Hair grows back, which is the great thing about it. However, it’s not going to grow out in time for your wedding, which means you’re going to be stuck with pictures you might not love if you don’t love your hair changes.

Spray Tans

I know this is going to be difficult for some women to avoid. However, spray tans are a bad idea this close to your wedding for two reasons. The first reason is that you need to have it done at least a few days prior to your wedding so that your skin has time to dry and you can take a shower to get rid of the disgusting smell that comes along with your faux tan. The second is that if you have it done a few days in advance, you might notice it’s already sloughing off on the day of your wedding. It’s just a bad idea all around; avoid it.
