Three Items to Help You Start Your Bucket List

Even if you don’t have a bucket list, you probably have a mental list of things you’d like to do at some point in your life. Even if that mental list is as official as saying, “Oh, I want to do that someday!” It’s a great idea to do things you’re scared of doing, or never thought you could do or just want to try once because you’re not sure twice or more would be worth your while. Living on the edge just a little is fun and it keeps life interesting. If you’re looking for some simple things to add to your bucket list, or just get you started, try these.

Eat Something Strange

This is not to say you have to go out and order the genitalia of a cow and dine on it for dinner tonight – or ever. This is only to say that you should try something you would never, ever eat at least once in your life or once in a while. You might find that your taste is more sophisticated than you once thought. Start your bucket list with something simple, such as escargot or oysters if you don’t already like those things.

Go Somewhere Different

Take a moment to write down a few places you’ve never been and you’ve never considered going, toss them in a jar and choose one at random and plan a vacation. This takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you experience something you wouldn’t ordinarily consider. If you’re really daring, try hanging a map on the wall and placing a pin in the map while blindfolded. Go wherever the pin lands.

Sign Up for a Mud Run

Even if you aren’t a runner, a mud run is a great experience to try. You only have to do it once, and whether you like it or not, there’s something to be said about signing up for something that takes you completely out of your comfort zone and puts in you a place you never thought you’d be.
