What’s Really Killing Your Sex Life
Many married couples like to blame it on the kids, their jobs, and all that they have to do to successfully run a family throughout the day. However, those are only part of the reasons why your sex life may not be quite as exciting as it once was; there are a few other little things you are doing before bed that are killing your sex life, and they have nothing to do with the kids.
Social Media
When you’re online checking out your friends’ new photos, catching up on all things twitter related, or pinning romantic ideas on pinterest (oh the irony) you’re ignoring the man right next to you. Make it a deal to turn your phones off at a certain time every night and forget about everyone in the world except each other.
Your Phone
If you have your phone on you all the time, you’re too stressed. Emails, texts, social media alerts, and calls will take you away from what’s right next to you. Put the phone elsewhere and relax. Unless you’re a doctor who is actually on-call, or your best friend is going to have a baby any second, put the phone down and ignore it until morning.
Put the Kids to Bed On Time
We may not be innocent of the previous two libido killers, but we sure as heck have our kids in bed by 8 pm every night. One thing we’ve never had a problem with is sleeping kids. Sleep rules are made by us, and us alone, which has worked well since our girls were both about two weeks old. We don’t have kids getting up in the middle of the night, crying at bedtime, or stalling to stay up late. Because they’re in bed at a decent time each night, we aren’t exhausted and ready for bed by the time we finish with them.
