Rules for Booking Cheap Rental Cars Every Time

Rental Cars

Saving money everywhere you can when you travel is a great idea. You want the experience that comes with visiting a new place, but certainly not the expense. Travel is expensive enough without paying too much for a rental car, especially when you consider that most rental cars are a bit dirty, have on upgrades and aren’t anything to write home about. Why would you want to pay more than necessary for that type of vehicle? You wouldn’t; which is why we have done our research so we could find out where you can save on rental car fees.

Because at the end of the day, it is the rental car fees that make these cars so expensive. Cheap rental cars are easy to find, but the fees make that cheap price look not-so-cheap at the end of the day. If you’re renting a car in the foreseeable future, you might want to check out our tips for saving on fees so that your rental car is more affordable.

Use Your Discounts

If you have an AAA or an AARP or other membership that offers discounts on rental cars, use it. It might not seem like much at first, but the savings really add up in the grand scheme of things. These savings are going to ensure you don’t pay too much for a rental car on your vacation, especially considering the cost of a rental has increased almost $23 a day over the course of the past year.

Bid on Your Rental

Websites such as Priceline.com offer you the choice to book your rental car from an unknown company online without knowing where it’s coming from. Unless you’re specifically brand loyal, this is a great savings option for people who want to have big savings on their next car rental.

Pay in Advance

When you book your rental through the rental car company, you save as much as 20% on the cost of a rental car when you pay now. Most car rental companies allow you to book your car without even offering payment information and pick it up when you’re ready, but paying in advance can be much less expensive when it comes time to picking up the rental car.
