Is it ever okay to regift something?  My answer is a resounding yes.  There are many good reasons that you should regift something that you have received.

Choosing to regift saves you money you would have had to have spent on a gift.  With so many people watching their budget, this can be a very helpful and easy way to save money.  It saves you the time and energy of trying to find the perfect gift for someone.  Who knows?  The recipient may absolutely love what you are giving them.  Choosing to regift also helps to keep your home free of clutter.  Choosing to regift is a good choice.

But there is a right way and a wrong way in how to regift.  There are a few little rules that you should follow when you choose to regift something.  You should only regift something if it has been unused and is completely new.  Choosing to give something that you have used is not the right way to treat someone.  Think about how you would feel if you received something that had been used before you received it as a gift?  Whatever you are regifting should be 100% new and never used.

You should also never regift something to someone that knows the person who gave you the gift.  Yes, it can get a mite tricky to keep up with but unless you can clearly remember where the gift came from, never attempt to regift it.  To do so could end up with hard feelings between you and the original gifter which is something that you definitely do not want.
