The Simplest Advice You Need to Reach Financial Success

success

To be successful, you have to be willing to do what no one else is willing to do. You have to do things you don’t want to do on occasion. You have to work when you don’t want to work. You have to be present, you have to be persistent, and you have to step outside your comfort zone. It’s the only way you can ever achieve any real success in life, whether you want to be your own boss or you want to work for someone else. At the end of the day, however, you will always work for someone else. You might be your own boss with your own business, but every client becomes your boss. Every person who hires you to work for them, to provide them with a service; that person is your boss.

If you want to continue to be successful at whatever it is you are doing – and you should always want to be successful at whatever you’re doing – you have to impress your boss. You have to be the person who makes your actual boss sit back and smile with appreciation that you are hardworking, dedicated and intelligent. You have to be the person your clients sit back and smile thinking of; how great you are, what a job you do and how much you have simplified their lives. You have to make sure you’re noticed in the world, even if you don’t like the attention. We have a few ideas that might help you step outside the box just a little bit. This is not the career advice that you’ve heard in the past, but it is the career advice that is going to send you climbing the ladder to success and financial freedom.

Accept your failures

If there is one thing that people take notice of, it’s those who accept their mistake and failures and take responsibility for them. For instance, when we were recently at dinner with a group of friends and my food never came out – even though I ordered first and half the table told the waitress that they wanted “what she’s having,” about my meal – all I needed was for her to come out and say, “My bad! I apologize! Let’s see what I can do to make this right for you,” and then bring me an actual meal to eat and maybe another glass of wine on the house. I’m not asking for much, really. But I am asking that I have food in front of me before everyone else is finished eating. That did not happen.

Instead, she blamed it on everyone else, brought me the wrong meal, and then argued with me when I told her that wasn’t what I ordered. All she had to do was say she was sorry, accept the responsibility and just make it right. That’s all; that is it. Since so few people are willing to do this, you should try it. People take notice.

Forget the job description

We all have a job description at work, but we all know that we have to go above and beyond at times. Sure, we do need to draw the line somewhere. For instance, if you are an attorney just starting out and your boss wants you to babysit her kids at the office and run them to the doctor, you might not want to accept that treatment. However, if she asks you to grab a coffee for her while you’re out or handle something that is a bit above your paygrade, do it. Most people take notice of those who go the extra mile without complaint; even when they don’t mention it.

What people also notice is the people who do only what they are expected to do and not a bit more. It’s obvious when someone is at work just for the check, even if they are quite good at their job. Be the go-getter.

Dress the part

One of the things that drives most people crazy and nuts are the people who don’t dress for the part. If you work in a professional office and like to wear clothes that are not professional, it’s not all right. You might meet the dress code requirements, but that doesn’t mean you have the look. It’s a bit of a controversial subject but you have to do it.

Let’s say you work in a corporate office and want a job that requires you spend a lot of time with clients. You meet the dress code already, but you do it wearing floral sundresses and little cardigans over it with some cute ballet flats in a fun and vibrant color to match your dress. You look fabulous, but you don’t look like the role. You need to look powerful, strong and confident; not like a fashion blogger on Easter. Dress the part; your boss, clients and everyone around you will take notice.

Be confident

Darling, I don’t care if you are confident or not. All you need to do is make me think you are confident. You will never reach the level of success you want to reach if you aren’t doing your part; your part is to be confident in yourself whether you really are or you are simply faking it until you make it. It is your choice.
