Pay Your Taxes at the 7-Eleven This Tax Season

7-11

Some people worry about how they will pay their taxes this year, especially as the April 18 deadline approaches as quickly as ever. When it comes to owing the IRS money, you have a few options. You can pay the IRS with a personal check, with a money order or with a cashier’s check. You can also pay your taxes with a debit or credit card – though they charge pretty hefty fees for this one, and it’s not worth paying more in taxes because the IRS wants your fees, too. But if you want to pay cash, say you don’t have a bank account or a checkbook, you typically really have to go out of your way to pay your bill.

To pay cash for your taxes, taxpayers are forced to locate an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center. There are plenty of them in the country, but they are not always conducive for a quick errand. Some people live hours from these locations, and that makes it next to impossible for them to actually pay their income tax bill in a timely fashion, leaving them without many options. The IRS wants their money, though, so they’re now offering cash taxpayers a way to more quickly and efficiently pay their tax bills; at the local 7-Eleven.

That’s right; you may now go to the nearest 7-Eleven and provide the clerk with the cash you owe for your tax bill, obtain a receipt and not worry about your taxes again until next year. The problem, however, is that it requires a bit more than just walking into the gas station to pay, so please visit the IRS website here to find out what you need to do to file your taxes and make your payment at the gas station nearest you.
