basic financial habits

Bad habits are hard to break and new habits are hard to make. Someone once said it takes approximately 21 days to create a habit, but we don’t know if that’s actually true since experts dispute it. However, we love the idea of creating new habits that are good ones. When you make it a goal to change your personal finance habits, you can get rich a lot faster. We’re certainly not saying you can get rich overnight, but you can get rich if you take the time to go ahead and make these habits a way of life. Check them out and let us know what you think; they’re actually such simple habits it’s hard to ignore them.

Only spend it if you have it

It’s the way we should all live. If you have the money to buy something and pay your expenses, you can buy it. If you don’t have the money, you have to put a bill to the side for a while or you have to put it on credit at the moment, don’t buy it. It’s simple, but a very effective way to get richer faster.

Invest early

Perhaps you’re about to graduate and get your first real job. You might think that you have plenty of time to begin investing in your retirement, but you don’t. Starting early is the best idea for your financial future, and it sets you up in a good place. When you begin investing in your retirement before you have expenses and bills, you never miss that money and never worry about needing it.

Pay yourself first

The most amazing financial habit to get into is to pay yourself first. If you can pay yourself before you pay anyone and anything else in your life, you are doing the best you can. You are the most important expense that you have, and investing in yourself is the best way to spend your money. Save; and do it before you do anything else.
