Marriott Reward Members Receive Discounted Bookings

If you are a Marriott Rewards Member, now is a good time for you. It’s been a long time coming that the hotel brand would offer such a lucrative deal for their customers, and now you get to book rooms and save money at the same time. Instead of just earning points with every stay, you now get to earn points and receive a discount on your room; and all you have to do is sign up for the free membership program. It makes sense to do it, since it costs nothing to you. The new promotion began on April 11. Anytime you book a room straight through the Marriott website, at the hotel or by calling the hotel itself, you will receive a discount.

If that’s not enough to convince you – and we know it is – you also get a few additional perks for being a member, too. In case you were not previously aware of these perks, you’ll receive the ability to check in and out of your hotel room through your mobile phone, as well as free Wi-Fi at any Marriott property, including Ritz-Carlton properties. It’s a pretty nice deal to become a Marriott rewards member, and that’s why people do it.

The only drawback to this program is that it is not as lucrative as the discount Hilton HHonors members are given. For example, if you are a Hilton member, you will receive a 10% discount on your stays. However, if you are Marriott member, you’ll receive a discount of 2% on weekdays and one of 5% on weekends. The discount is automatically applied toward the lowest rate permitted at the hotel, and you will not be able to use it if you have a group that has more than 10 rooms. Otherwise, it’s a great deal for those who like to earn and save at the same time.
